All growers should have a magnifying glass to check the trichomes on the buds to check the maturity, I use 8 X
Clear looking triches is still early and should hold out longer, cloudy is getting there but hold out for some amber color, that's when its getting ripe ,I like to see 10-20% amber trichomes before I harvest.
Some plants will not amber up you have to check the age and amount of yellow leaf to determine if its ready, that tends to be the case with some autoflowering strains I notice.
Many new growers get impatient, and harvest early, their yield will suffer and quality is not as good. Patience is a virtue near harvest time.

Have you ever heard, the darker the tri's are, the heavier the high?

Yes that's pretty much the deal amber (darker) triches will give you more of a couch lock. Clear or cloudy will give you a kind of a nervous rush buzz in my expericance anyway.
I like a some amber on mine 20-30% is good if you can wait.

Depending on how much the high matters/ your patience level..
Its a good idea to check triches on every branch, alot of times(depending on the grower) the lower branches need a day or 3 more to hit that sweet spot. I feel like its common practice for growers to harvest the entire plant at once. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing. Alot of people like the nervous buzz, they describe it more as a wake-me-up bowl of weedies.

I thought so, ive always had the best sleep meds when I grew for my insomnia. Once a cropped early due to time issues, and got sme weed that kept me awake. I had been told long ago about the diffrence, just didnt know how true it was, aside from my own experience.
