One method mentioned for rooting cannabis is aloe vera gel..
Another is to use alaskas massive supply of willow.
Willow contains Indolebutyric acid (IBA) which is a plant hormone that stimulates root growth. It is present in high concentrations in the growing tips of willow branches. By using the actively growing parts of a willow branch, cutting them, and soaking them in water, you can get significant quantities of IBA to leach out into the water.
Salicylic acid (SA) (which is a chemical similar to the headache medicine Aspirin) is a plant hormone which is involved in signalling a plant’s defences, it is involved in the process of “systemic acquired resistance” (SAR) – where an attack on one part of the plant induces a resistance response to pathogens (triggers the plant’s internal defences) in other parts of the plant. It can also trigger a defence response in nearby plants by converting the salicylic acid into a volatile chemical form.
To harvest, collect young 1st year shoots and branches, they should be green in color ( older = brown and grey), chop into smaller pieces and soak in water. The more branches and longer the soak the more potent or effective the sollution will be.
(An example.. I used 1 branch, 8inches long, 1inch diameter, shredded into a gallon of water and soaked for 8hrs. Then the experiment:
1 cloan that had rerooted and had 1week of new growth..her roots started circling the bottom of a 1gal pot. Initially was discarding and throwing out, so i plucked her out from the dirt, or tried... 80% of her root mass stayed in the dirt, i trimmed another 10% from what was left, repotted her and 8days later had new growth.)(Ive been looking amd cant find a good after photo, but i assure you she survived and did well, never going limp once. She did however come from a mother who rerooted easily compared to the other 4 plants ive tried)
