Interesting times for us working stiffs just needing a steady legal paycheck from a job in the cannabis economy. Someone out there knows more than I do about the how, when, and where of getting a job. Any thoughts or info about the cannabis handlers permit, intern opportunities, or start up work to get the legal market up and producing would be great. Thanks all.

Keeping a picture résumé is a great idea, you can show off your skills for sure.
Its going to be a waiting game for awhile, the first licenses are to be issued in early June so bud tenders might get hired then but the bud trimmers and hash and oil making wont be happening till after the first crop is in,I would imagine the earelist could be in late summer early fall. But plenty of other industries will cater to the cannabis industry so opportunity is out there now.

Thanks Admin, good advice. Patience is required until the legal market is ready to start production. Would a job, internship, or volunteer position in the underground market translate into a permanent position once these growers go legal? It's been challenging for to find any work in already operating grows. I understand the security risks growers face, the labor requirements of small grows, and the reluctance to take a chance on an unknown potential employee. If I wasn't desperate to establish myself in the cannabis economy, I could afford wait six months. Truth is, I need a job now. Thanks!

I think many of the black market growers today will be legal growers once the licenses are issued.I think there will be some trust issues on hiring strangers for their grow, until those golden license's are issued.
I do understand the work needed now thing, I would suggest doing whatever it takes to survive until yiur dream job in the cannabis industry comes through and I am sure it will if you work at it.
Hopefully our help wanted section will be able to help you find work as we get more business in here, until then networking is the word of the day.
