Small growers can utilize these grow tents and have a controlled environment in a small section of house basement attic or where ever and can produce a crop without stinking up the house.
I built a small 4X4 room around my tent with a vent hole and filter and that works great. Apollo Horticulture sells decent tents and you can find them on Amazon or ebay priced pretty reasonable.

The kit they have at Sam's Club holds promise for a all in one kit. Controlled and sterile grow area are important IMHO

The first picture is my first grow, in a larger closet in my bed room, the doors were, lined with white milar. Even in this type of grow area, I like to keep it clean, simply put, you avoid bigger head aches in the long run by making this habit IMHO. From there I moved to a 5x8 ft tent, with a flat tray table set at a 4% grade, topped with construction white board, 6" mesh baskets, and a small water recyceling feeding system. The red film is used for the bloom stage, helping with the red band needed in that stage.
